A guide can need attention without needing a new headline or a new publication date. The useful question is whether its advice still helps someone make the decision they came to make.
Find the parts that can expire
Read the article with a pencil or a comment tool. Mark prices, product names, screenshots, procedures, eligibility conditions and links to external sources. These deserve a different review rhythm from a stable explanation of a basic concept.

Use dates honestly

Finally, ask whether the opening paragraph still answers the central question. A good update may be shorter than the original. Its purpose is to improve accuracy and usefulness, not to produce a visible volume of edits.
Keep a simple editorial log with the page, what changed, why it changed and who checked it. That record gives your next reviewer a practical starting point and makes future corrections easier.
